I think today was one of the best days of my life, and it made my week spectacular.
My day started at 630AM, where I walked to Coles to buy olives, sundried tomatoes, cheese and crackers. I was tired, and a little annoyed from English, but nonetheless it was worth it.
HAPPY 2117TH BIRTHDAY GNAEUS POMPEIS MAGNUS!
The card was amazing - the messages were amazing, and I can't really remember any at the moment, but I'm hoping Bushie, Grundie or Summerscales were able to take a photo of it.
CC made a laurel/civic crown/the wreath worn by Caesar, and he wore it :') it was a most beautiful sight! Carissa brought Aero and Milky Bar and crossed it out and wrote 'BACI' and 'WHITE BACI' on it. Shivdawg and Judith brought 'DOROMANITOS'.
I love you guys so much :') it spans across the entire Roman empire, through to Parthia.
Ancient and English was this week - the two essay writing subjects crammed into one week, and it was the crap. The two essay questions were SO FREAKING BROAD in ancient, and no one went into as much detail as they had wanted to. And English...DO YOU THINK YOU'RE FUNNY AND ALL DAT, PICKIN' PEARSON HUH PUNKS? BRB AS I GO AND HIDE IN MY FRIDGE AND EAT EVERYTHING.
presentation night was...eh. if they gave us food DURING the course of the award handing outing, it would've been better. and I was sooooo hungry, like far out, when the Ag ABC guy got up and gave his speech and he started talkin' bout oysters my stomach was like GUDHSJFHASFA FEEEED MEEEEEEEE. and Mr Dillon had a black suit on AND LOOKED SUPER BAD ASS B) if he came into class, wearing that, I WOULD DO MY WORK AND NOT TALK AND THERE WOULD BE NO STINK BOMBS THROWN OUT OF THE CLASS :P
one week of school left, and then so begins the treacherous holiday of reading english and ancient books and catching up on homework and making notes. lovely.
after reading Kyleen's blog, I don't think I've told you guys yet that I got sorted into Ravenclaw for Pottermore? Dear reader, are you just as shocked as I am?! D: DID YOU NOT THINK THAT MY BRAVE HEART T'WOULD DWELL IN GRYFFINDOR?! the smartest thing I've ever done is fit 56473956246523 marshmallows into my mouth. and ooh ohh ohh.df.aslfksd, my favourite female HP character (just coz I need something to ramble about and to make up room) is by far Professor Minerva McGonagall. I see her equivalent at Hurlstone as Mr Dillon - intelligent, strict but yet just, head of an important group, incredibly passionate, caring for their students, and just overall bad ass. And after reading her backstory on Pottermore; the family and love strain she had to endure...I was moved to tears and developed an infinite amount of respect and love for her. (trying not to reveal anything for you non-Pottermore Muggles :P) I do look up to her, a lot.
And Maggie Smith too. Her illustrious career, battle with breast cancer and filming whilst having her chemo done....yeah, I don't need to say anything else. what an amazing amazing woman.
that's all from today; SIGNED, IBID :P
WAIT NO NOT YET. to truly show my appreciation for Dame Ma'am Lady Knight etc etc Professor Mcgonagall...these are my favourite EVER quotes from her!
Umbridge: Something you'd like to say, Dear?
MCGONAGALL: OH THERE ARE SEVERAL THINGS I'D LIKE TO SAY!
Mg: is it true you shouted at Umbridge?
Harry: yes
Mg: you called her a liar?
Harry: yes
Mg: you told her He Who Must Not Be Named be back?
Harry: yes.
Mg:.....have a biscuit, Potter.
