It was absolutely spectacular and phenomenal. David Yates, congratulations - no one could have pulled it off better. You ended millions of peoples' childhoods with a bang, and as we walked out that cinema theatre, still dabbing our eyes, feeling a little empty inside, we felt so proud to have taken this journey, so proud to have lived it, and so proud to have finished it magnificently.
I admit, the feeling of pride is currently overriding the grief I'll be experiencing in a minute, but let's take advantage of it and review the movie, shall we
m'dears?
The scenery was breathtaking - all those views of Hogwarts kind of startled you and made you broken inside as to how
Voldemort could destroy such a place that so many people called home, including him.
McGonagall was amazing, brave, funny, and without a doubt every person in the cinema felt a massive pang of love for the woman when she stood between
Snape and Harry.
Griphook and Lucius did really well; honestly, this is such a weird feeling, but I am so proud of
Griphook LOL. in the book, I hated him. Hated him for leaving the trio. But in the movie, there was something enchanting about him that kind of made me forgive him :P
I cried. A lot. Actually I think that might be an understatement
HAHAHAHA. Fred, Lupin,
Snape,
Tonks, and everyone else who died in the Hogwarts Battle, RIP.
Severus
Snape. The memories were so eloquent, so beautiful, and absolutely heart breaking. As Severus held Lily, when baby Harry had silent tears streaming down his face even though he was too young to fully understand what was happening, and as Lily told Harry that "mama loves you, papa loves you", and when Severus showed
Dumbledore his
patronus - I was wrung dry of my tears.
It was
soooo funny at some parts :L Ron and
McGonagall were hilarious, and even
Voldemort at times was unintentionally funny
HAHAHA.
The kiss? Twas random, but it happened, and oh my the whole audience wolf whistled and clapped. OOH, MY AUDIENCE WAS AMAZING. A LITTLE ANNOYING TO START OFF WITH, WITH THE CHATTER AND INAPPROPRIATE SCREAMING, BUT
OMGSH, I GREW TO LOVE THEM SO MUCH AS WE ALL CHEERED AND CLAPPED TOGETHER. Might I also say that I ran into a few people: Joanne and Amanda from year 10, Catherine
Londos from year 9,
Kaushalya!, a whole bunch of ex
HAHSers from last year, and
ofc Ashley,
Anh and Diem :D I shouldn't be surprised that so many HAHSers went to HP midnight screening >:D
AND MIGHT I SAY, THERE WAS
SOOOO MUCH SEXUAL TENSION BETWEEN NEVILLE AND LUNA AT ONE BIT.
Well, I hope you all had/have a wonderful experience. It's not the end - stories only ever end when there is no one left to listen to them. And guys, I know that we'll all be listening to the tale of the thin eleven year old with green eyes and a lightning bolt scar for a long time
comin'.
